We’re now staying at Standown Park Caravan Park at Kia Ora, half way between Gympie and Tin Can Bay. It’s a beautiful spot, lovely and green and very quiet. The park is located right next to a pine plantation and is surrounded by green fields with cows and kangaroos. Very peaceful.

The park is owned by Rod and Pam, and they have done a great job setting it up. The camp kitchen is well equipped with bbq, cooking utensils, lots of tables and chairs, board games, dartboard, and of course, happy hour every afternoon.

We went for a drive in the areas behind the park the other day – and it’s really beautiful – rolling hills and lots of orchards with mango and banana trees, and farms with fresh fruit and vegetables for sale.
